FEATURED PLAYBOOK

Protect frontline communities and our environment from data center harm

The NAACP’s “stop dirty data centers” initiative is a community and national effort centered around resisting the impact and intrusion of polluting artificial intelligence centers and cloud computing data centers.

We inspire action by sharing stories of collective efforts that make a difference.

What action will your group get started on today?

We are standing at a crossroads. For too long, communities have been constrained by the short-term cycles of government funding…programs built on scarcity rather than abundance, on politics rather than need, on reaction rather than imagination.

The Long Arc Collective dares to look further ahead by sharing actions you can take today that will create a thriving future.

Why act now?

Working from a long arc perspective means choosing the future of humanity over short-sighted gains.

Investing in the long arc means experimenting and collaborating with others to change the conditions of people’s lives…long term.

Why the long arc?

The challenges we face today—strengthening democracy, advancing justice, healing division, protecting the planet, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive—were not created by one person, and they will not be solved by one person.

Every movement that has reshaped society has been a collective endeavor. Thousands of people, often working independently but connected by shared purpose, contributed ideas, experimented with new approaches, learned from failures, and built on one another's successes.

Why a collective?

The Long Arc Collective builds a bridge between inspiration and implementation.

We believe we can change the future for the better, but only if we do it together. We believe that caring for each other is sacred work. We believe hope is an action. We will work to be the ancestors that future generations will be proud of.

Our values

We build a bridge between inspiration and implementation by breaking down lessons and tactics from successful progressive actions. So you can try them in your community.

What we do

The Long Arc Collective is a network of individuals and groups across the U.S. that seek to create a thriving future.

Our network

Our priorities

All oppressions are connected and reinforce each other. What that means is that oppressions like racism, sexism, and classism grow from the same root causes: treating a group as lesser to control resources like money, access to power, and social standing.
